                       A RESOLUTION
         Honoring the Marion Local High School football team
         on winning the 2024 Division VII State Championship.
     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th    1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to salute the Marion Local High      2
School football team as the 2024 Division VII State Champion; and         3
     WHEREAS, Establishing a reputation for its skill and tenacity, the   4
Marion Local High School football team is an impressive group of          5
athletes whose talent and teamwork are unmatched. At the 2024 Division    6
VII State Championship, the squad seized the title with an impressive     7
score of 74-0 to win its fifteenth state championship, the most of any    8
school in state history, and extend its win streak to sixty-four          9
games, and this victory will be celebrated for many years to come; and    10
     WHEREAS, The members of the Marion Local High School football team   11
rose to the occasion and proved themselves to be one of the most          12
dynamic teams in our state. Truly, these outstanding athletes can be      13
proud of the accomplishments that were hard-won and deserved              14
throughout the 2024 season; and                                           15
     WHEREAS, By remaining faithful to the highest standards of           16
sportsmanship and teamwork, the members of the Marion Local High          17
School football team primed themselves under the guidance of Coach Tim    18
Goodwin to reach their full potential. Indeed, the Flyers have            19
demonstrated remarkable energy, enthusiasm, and dedication in all of      20
their endeavors; therefore be it                                          21
     RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of    22
the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution,          23
recognize the Marion Local High School football team on its               24
outstanding success and honor the athletes and coaches for their          25

tremendous prowess; and be it further                                      26
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit     27
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Marion Local High      28
School football team.                                                      29
