A RESOLUTION
Honoring Morgan Hallett as the 2024 Division II State Shot
Put and Discus Champion.
WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 135th General Assembly 1
of Ohio are pleased to recognize Morgan Hallett, a recent graduate of 2
Norton High School, on winning the 2024 Division II State Track and 3
Field Championships in the shot put and discus; and 4
WHEREAS, Displaying exceptional form, ability, leadership, and 5
dedication during the 2024 season, Morgan Hallett certainly 6
distinguished herself as one of the most talented throwers in Ohio. 7
After winning four previous state championships in the shot put and 8
discus, she once again prevailed in both events at this year’s 9
Division II State Meet with marks of 44 feet in the shot put and 152 10
feet, 2 inches in the discus; and 11
WHEREAS, Throughout intense training and preparation, Morgan 12
Hallett has consistently demonstrated the talent, integrity, and 13
motivation that are the hallmarks of a true champion. She has inspired 14
her teammates, thrilled her fans, gained the respect of her opponents, 15
and made her coaches, family, and community proud; and 16
WHEREAS, In a society that seeks to teach the future leaders of 17
our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and the rewards 18
of individual effort, athletic competition has become a valuable 19
educational tool. Clearly, Morgan Hallett has learned much about 20
excellence as an athlete, and she has made a significant impact on 21
high school track and field in our state; therefore be it 22
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 135th General 23
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, pay tribute to Morgan 24
Hallett on her success and extend best wishes for the years ahead; and 25

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly 27
authenticated copy of this Resolution to Morgan Hallett. 28
