                       A RESOLUTION
             Honoring the Avon High School football team
               as the 2024 Division II State Champion.
     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th   1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to commend the Avon High School     2
football team on securing the 2024 Division II State Championship; and   3
     WHEREAS, The Avon High School football team has proven to be a      4
talented and superbly conditioned squad and has gained the respect of    5
fans and opponents alike for the spirited and highly motivated           6
performance of its members. Throughout the season, the athletes worked   7
diligently to hone their skills on the gridiron, and as a result, the    8
Eagles accomplished their goals, bringing home this year’s state         9
championship crown, their first such title in program history, and       10
compiling a perfect 16-0 record; and                                     11
     WHEREAS, Known as a driven and determined team, the Avon Eagles     12
have developed into a remarkably efficient group of players whose        13
skill is equaled only by their exemplary display of teamwork. They are   14
a credit not only to their families and their school but also to the     15
superb leadership of their coach, Mike Elder; and                        16
     WHEREAS, The road to victory is a difficult one, requiring          17
ability, endurance, and a positive attitude on the part of players and   18
coaches alike. The members of the Avon High School football team have    19
exemplified the characteristics that are essential for success both in   20
and out of competition, including courage, discipline, integrity, and    21
good sportsmanship, and their efforts have earned them the admiration    22
of all those who have witnessed these outstanding athletes in action;    23
therefore be it                                                          24
    RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of    25

the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution,           26
salute the Avon High School football team on its 2024 Division II          27
State Championship and extend best wishes for the years to come; and       28
be it further                                                              29
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit     30
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Avon High School       31
football team.                                                             32
