                       A RESOLUTION
            Honoring the Ironton High School football team
                as the 2024 Division V State Champion.
     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th    1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate the Ironton High     2
School football team on winning the 2024 Division V State                 3
Championship; and                                                         4
     WHEREAS, A remarkable group of young athletes, the members of the    5
Ironton High School football team have combined talent and spirit with    6
the highest ideals of good sportsmanship to establish themselves as       7
truly exceptional competitors. With admirable dedication, the Fighting    8
Tigers have worked diligently toward attaining ultimate proficiency in    9
football, and as a result, they defeated a tough Liberty Center squad     10
by the score of 28-17 to win this year’s Division V State                 11
Championship, their third such title in program history, and finished     12
the season with an impressive 15-1 record; and                            13
     WHEREAS, The Fighting Tigers’ achievements and leadership are a      14
justifiable source of pride and an excellent reflection on the            15
players, their families, their school, their community, and their         16
coaches. In leading their team to victory, Head Coach Trevon Pendleton    17
and his assistants have not only helped the athletes to develop their     18
talents to the fullest but also instilled in them a valuable sense of     19
determination, perseverance, and camaraderie; and                         20
     WHEREAS, With athletic competition playing such an important role    21
in the total education of our young people, we are extremely pleased      22
to pay tribute to these exemplary athletes and their outstanding          23
coaches for a job well done. The maturity and experience the team         24
members have gained through their participation in sports will greatly    25
aid them in meeting the challenges of the future; therefore be it         26

     RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of     27
the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution,           28
commend the Ironton High School football team on its tremendous season     29
and salute the members and coaches as some of Ohio’s finest citizens;      30
and be it further                                                          31
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit     32
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Ironton High           33
School football team.                                                      34
