                       A RESOLUTION
            Honoring Oshae Jones as the IBF and IBO Super Welterweight
              World Champion.
     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 135th General Assembly    1
of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to Oshae Jones on      2
winning the International Boxing Federation and International Boxing     3
Organization World Championships in the super welterweight division,     4
November 22, 2024; and                                                   5
     WHEREAS, Displaying exceptional form, ability, leadership, and      6
dedication, Oshae Jones has certainly distinguished herself as one of    7
the most talented boxers in the State of Ohio and beyond. In a ten-      8
round, split-decision bout, she defeated Femke Hermans of Belgium to     9
claim the International Boxing Federation and International Boxing       10
Organization World Championships in the super welterweight division,     11
improving her record to 8-0; and                                         12
     WHEREAS, Throughout intense training and preparation, Oshae Jones   13
has demonstrated the hallmarks of a true champion through her talent,    14
integrity, and motivation. She has thrilled her fans, gained the         15
respect of her opponents, and made her coaches, family, and hometown     16
of Toledo very proud; and                                                17
     WHEREAS, The discipline associated with athletics has become        18
important in the development of role models, and we are extremely        19
pleased to pay tribute to Oshae Jones on her impressive International    20
Boxing Federation and International Boxing Organization World            21
Championship titles. Indeed, the character and experience she has        22
gained through her participation in boxing will greatly aid her in       23
meeting the challenges of the future; therefore be it                    24
    RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 135th General    25

As Introduced
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Oshae Jones on      26
her remarkable success and salute her as one of Ohio’s finest              27
athletes; and be it further                                                28
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly                29
authenticated copy of this Resolution to Oshae Jones.                      30
