                       A RESOLUTION
            Honoring the Bishop Watterson High School football team as
              the 2024 Division III State Champion.
     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 135th General Assembly     1
of Ohio are pleased to commend the Bishop Watterson High School           2
football team on winning the 2024 Division III State Championship; and    3
     WHEREAS, The Bishop Watterson High School football team has proven   4
to be a talented and superbly conditioned squad and has gained the        5
respect of fans and opponents alike for the spirited and highly           6
motivated performance of its members. Throughout the season, the          7
athletes worked diligently on the gridiron, and as a result, the          8
Eagles accomplished their goal, bringing home this year’s state           9
championship, the third such title in program history, and compiling a    10
perfect 16-0 record; and                                                  11
     WHEREAS, Known as a driven and determined team, the Bishop           12
Watterson Eagles have developed into a remarkably efficient group of      13
players whose skill is equaled only by their exemplary display of         14
teamwork. They are a credit not only to their families and their          15
school but also to the superb leadership of their coach, Brian            16
Kennedy; and                                                              17
     WHEREAS, The road to victory is a difficult one, requiring           18
ability, endurance, and a positive attitude on the part of players and    19
coaches alike. The members of the Bishop Watterson High School            20
football team have exemplified the characteristics that are essential     21
for success both in and out of competition, including courage,            22
discipline, integrity, and good sportsmanship, and their efforts have     23
earned them the admiration of all those who have witnessed these          24
outstanding athletes in action; therefore be it                           25

     RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 135th General        26
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, salute the Bishop              27
Watterson High School football team on its 2024 Division III State            28
Championship and offer best wishes for the years to come; and be it           29
further                                                                       30
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly                   31
authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Bishop Watterson High            32
School football team.                                                         33
