                       A RESOLUTION
            Honoring the Olentangy Liberty High School football team
              as the 2024 Division I State Champion.
     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 135th General Assembly    1
of Ohio are pleased to congratulate the Olentangy Liberty High School    2
football team on winning the 2024 Division I State Championship; and     3
     WHEREAS, An outstanding group of young athletes, the members of     4
the Olentangy Liberty High School football team have combined talent     5
and spirit with the highest ideals of good sportsmanship to establish    6
themselves as truly exceptional competitors. With admirable              7
dedication, the Patriots have worked diligently toward attaining         8
ultimate proficiency in football, and as a result, they secured this     9
year’s Division I State Championship with a win over Cincinnati          10
Moeller by a score of 28-14, their first such title in program           11
history, and finished the season with an impressive 14-2 record; and     12
     WHEREAS, The Patriots’ achievements and leadership are a            13
justifiable source of pride and an excellent reflection on the           14
players, their families, their school, their community, and their        15
coaches, John Sansbury, Nate Cikach, Mike Cimaglia, Ryan Ebie, and       16
Michael Banig. In leading their team to victory, they have not only      17
helped the athletes to develop their talents to the fullest but also     18
instilled in them a valuable sense of determination, perseverance, and   19
camaraderie; and                                                         20
     WHEREAS, With athletic competition playing such an important role   21
in the total education of our young people, we are overjoyed to pay      22
tribute to these exemplary athletes and their outstanding coaches for    23
a job well done. The maturity and experience the team members have       24
gained through their participation in sports will greatly aid them in    25
meeting the challenges of the future; therefore be it                    26

     RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 135th General     27
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend the Olentangy       28
Liberty High School football team on its tremendous season and salute      29
the members and coaches as some of Ohio’s finest citizens; and be it       30
further                                                                    31
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly                32
authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Olentangy Liberty High        33
School football team.                                                      34
