                       A RESOLUTION
           Honoring the Avon High School football team on winning the
              2024 Division II State Championship.
     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 135th General Assembly    1
of Ohio are pleased to recognize the Avon High School football team as   2
the 2024 Division II State Champion; and                                 3
     WHEREAS, The members of the Avon High School football team are      4
exemplary athletes, and they have shown themselves to be truly           5
exceptional competitors. To culminate their successful season, the       6
Eagles outscored a tough Anderson squad 20-13 to win the 2024 Division   7
II State Championship, and the unwavering commitment of the players      8
and coaches has earned them the esteem of many. They are certainly       9
deserving of high praise; and                                            10
     WHEREAS, Coach Mike Elder has demonstrated remarkable energy,       11
enthusiasm, and dedication in guiding the Avon High School football      12
team to victory, and his skill is reflected in the squad’s outstanding   13
accomplishments. Due largely to his tireless efforts, the members have   14
distinguished themselves on the gridiron, and he has received respect    15
and admiration from all who know him; and                                16
     WHEREAS, In an educational system that seeks to teach the future    17
leaders of our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and    18
the rewards of individual and group effort, athletic competition has     19
become a valuable tool. By taking part in sports, the members of the     20
Avon High School football team have gained discipline and perseverance   21
that will help them in all aspects of their lives; therefore be it       22
     RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 135th General   23
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, pay tribute to the Avon   24
High School football team as the 2024 Division II State Champion and     25

honor all those who contributed to the success of this fine squad; and     26
be it further                                                              27
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly                28
authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Avon High School football     29
