A RESOLUTION
In memory of William Nelson Morgan.
WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th 1
General Assembly of Ohio offer our deepest sympathy and heartfelt 2
condolences to the family and many friends of William Nelson Morgan on 3
the sorrowful occasion of his death; and 4
WHEREAS, Although there are no words to ease the sadness now felt, 5
surely there is solace in having been touched by such an outstanding 6
person as Bill Morgan. The love, compassion, and understanding he so 7
readily extended to others, including his wife, the late Virginia, his 8
children, Scott, Susan, Stacy, and Sharon, his grandchildren, Kristen, 9
Katelyn, Chelsea, Christopher, Michael, Kelly, and William, and his 10
great-grandchildren, Alexia, Cameron, Lena, Brewer, Otto, Kyrie, and 11
Dakota, will long remain in the hearts and minds of all who knew him; 12
and 13
WHEREAS, A veteran of the U.S. Army, a deputy sheriff in Perry 14
County, and the mayor of the Village of Shawnee, Bill Morgan was 15
widely esteemed for his many years of service as the senior vice 16
president of the Ohio Bankers Association, and he distinguished 17
himself as a passionate advocate who gained the respect of his 18
colleagues as well as Ohio’s leaders from both political parties. 19
Indeed, he could always be relied upon to favor a worthy cause, and 20
his outstanding career and lifetime of achievements are sure to 21
inspire others to devote themselves similarly; and 22
WHEREAS, Bill Morgan’s dedication to the highest principles of 23
community service, leadership, and selflessness was clearly evident in 24
the breadth of organizations he supported. Indeed, he was active with 25
such groups as the Association of Ohio Commodores and the Ohio Ballot 26
Board, and he gave freely of his time and talent far beyond what was 27

required or expected. An individual of exceptional civic concern and 28
commitment, he amply demonstrated how very much a conscientious and 29
industrious person can accomplish, and his tireless efforts to better 30
the world around him will stand as a testament to his personal 31
character; therefore be it 32
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of 33
the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, 34
acknowledge the legacy of a remarkable Ohioan, William Nelson Morgan; 35
and be it further 36
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit 37
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the family of William 38
Nelson Morgan. 39
