                       A RESOLUTION
            Honoring the St. Xavier High School boys volleyball team
              as the 2024 Division I State Champion.
     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 135th General Assembly    1
of Ohio are pleased to congratulate the St. Xavier High School boys      2
volleyball team on winning the 2024 Division I State Championship; and   3
     WHEREAS, A remarkable group of young athletes, the members of the   4
St. Xavier High School boys volleyball team have combined talent and     5
spirit with the highest ideals of good sportsmanship to establish        6
themselves as truly exceptional competitors. With admirable              7
dedication, the Bombers have worked diligently toward attaining          8
ultimate proficiency in volleyball, and as a result, they defeated a     9
tough St. Ignatius team in three sets to win the Division I State        10
Championship; and                                                        11
     WHEREAS, The achievements and leadership of the St. Xavier High     12
School boys volleyball team are a justifiable source of pride and an     13
excellent reflection on the players, their families, their school,       14
their community, and their coach, Bill Ferns. In leading his squad to    15
victory, Coach Ferns has not only helped the athletes to develop their   16
talents to the fullest but also instilled in them a valuable sense of    17
determination, perseverance, and camaraderie; and                        18
     WHEREAS, With athletic competition playing such an important role   19
in the total education of our young people, we are overjoyed to pay      20
tribute to the exemplary athletes who comprise the St. Xavier High       21
School boys volleyball team. The maturity and experience the members     22
have gained through their participation in sports will greatly aid       23
them in meeting the challenges of the future; therefore be it            24
    RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 135th General    25
S. R. No. 489                                                     Page 2
As Introduced
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend the St. Xavier      26
High School boys volleyball team on its tremendous season and salute       27
the members and coach as some of Ohio’s finest citizens; and be it         28
further                                                                    29
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly                30
authenticated copy of this Resolution to the St. Xavier High School        31
boys volleyball team.                                                      32
