                       A RESOLUTION
     Honoring the Mt. Gilead High School boys cross country team
               as the 2024 Division III State Champion.
     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th   1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate the Mt. Gilead      2
High School boys cross country team on winning the 2024 Division III     3
State Championship; and                                                  4
     WHEREAS, A remarkable group of young athletes, the members of the   5
Mt. Gilead High School boys cross country team have combined talent      6
and spirit with the highest ideals of good sportsmanship to establish    7
themselves as truly exceptional competitors. With admirable              8
dedication, the Indians have worked diligently toward attaining          9
ultimate proficiency in their sport, and as a result, they compiled      10
109 points to secure the Division III State Championship title for the   11
second time in three years; and                                          12
     WHEREAS, The Indians’ achievements and leadership are a             13
justifiable source of pride and an excellent reflection on the           14
runners, their families, their school, their community, and their        15
coach, Jake Hayes. In leading his team to victory, Coach Hayes has not   16
only helped the athletes to develop their talents to the fullest but     17
also instilled in them a valuable sense of determination,                18
perseverance, and camaraderie; and                                       19
     WHEREAS, With athletic competition playing such an important role   20
in the total education of our young people, we are extremely pleased     21
to pay tribute to these exemplary athletes and their outstanding coach   22
for a job well done. The maturity and experience the team members have   23
gained through their participation in sports will greatly aid them in    24
meeting the challenges of the future; therefore be it                    25

As Offered
     RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of     26
the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution,           27
commend the Mt. Gilead High School boys cross country team on its          28
tremendous season and salute the members and coach as some of Ohio’s       29
finest citizens; and be it further                                         30
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit     31
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Mt. Gilead High        32
School boys cross country team.                                            33
