                       A RESOLUTION
        Honoring First Congregational United Church of Christ
                         on its Bicentennial.
     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th   1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to    2
First Congregational United Church of Christ on the memorable occasion   3
of its Two Hundredth Anniversary; and                                    4
     WHEREAS, For the past two centuries, First Congregational United    5
Church of Christ has served as a tremendous source of spiritual          6
inspiration, and it has encouraged countless individuals to pursue       7
lives of worship, service, learning, and fellowship. The impact this     8
fine institution has had on the Elyria community is impossible to        9
quantify, and its contributions to society are truly outstanding; and    10
     WHEREAS, This auspicious observance, celebrated December 1, 2024,   11
August 3, 2025, and November 23, 2025, offers the members of First       12
Congregational United Church of Christ the opportunity to share their    13
memories and to reflect on the benefits of life in their close-knit      14
community. The parishioners can be proud that their remarkable example   15
has ensured that the best traditions of the past will shape a future     16
of benevolence and prosperity; and                                       17
     WHEREAS, First Congregational United Church of Christ has stood     18
strong in the face of challenges and has made a positive impact on       19
both the community and the world. This important milestone reflects      20
what can be accomplished by a church that is comprised of people in      21
support of its values, and we look with optimism as it upholds its       22
rich legacy in the years to come; therefore be it                        23
     RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of   24
the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution,         25

applaud First Congregational United Church of Christ on its                26
Bicentennial and salute everyone who has contributed to the longevity      27
of this House of God; and be it further                                    28
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit     29
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to First Congregational       30
United Church of Christ.                                                   31
