                       A RESOLUTION
        Honoring the St. Ignatius High School boys soccer team
          on winning the 2024 Division I State Championship.
     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th    1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to recognize the St. Ignatius        2
High School boys soccer team as the 2024 Division I State Champion;       3
and                                                                       4
     WHEREAS, The members of the St. Ignatius High School boys soccer     5
team are exemplary athletes, and they have shown themselves to be         6
truly exceptional competitors. During the 2024 season, the Wildcats       7
compiled an impressive 15-4-2 record and secured their sixth              8
consecutive Division I State Championship. The unwavering commitment      9
of the players and coaches has earned them the esteem of many, and        10
they are certainly deserving of high praise; and                          11
     WHEREAS, Coach Mike McLaughlin has demonstrated remarkable energy,   12
enthusiasm, and dedication in guiding the St. Ignatius High School        13
boys soccer team to victory and the title of Ohio's winningest soccer     14
program, and his skill is reflected in the squad’s outstanding            15
accomplishments. Due largely to his tireless efforts, the members have    16
distinguished themselves on the field, and he has received respect and    17
admiration from all who know him; and                                     18
     WHEREAS, In an educational system that seeks to teach the future     19
leaders of our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and     20
the rewards of individual and group effort, athletic competition has      21
become a valuable tool. By taking part in sports, the members of the      22
St. Ignatius High School boys soccer team have gained discipline and      23
perseverance that will help them in all aspects of their lives;           24

     RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of     26
the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, pay       27
tribute to the St. Ignatius High School boys soccer team as the 2024       28
Division I State Champion and honor all those who contributed to the       29
success of this fine squad; and be it further                              30
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit     31
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the St. Ignatius High      32
School boys soccer team.                                                   33
