A RESOLUTION
Authorizing the Ohio YMCA Youth and Government Middle 1
School State Assembly to use the Ohio House Chambers to 2
conduct its 2024 model legislature. 3
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF
OHIO:
WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th 4
General Assembly of Ohio have learned that the Ohio YMCA Youth and 5
Government Middle School State Assembly has requested permission to 6
use the Ohio House Chambers for its model legislature event, December 7
9, 2024; and 8
WHEREAS, A beneficial educational organization, the Ohio YMCA 9
Youth and Government Middle School State Assembly provides students 10
with the opportunity to better appreciate and understand government 11
and its components, and the knowledge gained through this event will 12
certainly be of value to all participants throughout their lifetimes; 13
and 14
WHEREAS, By utilizing the facilities that accommodate those 15
involved in the state legislative process, the Ohio YMCA Youth and 16
Government Middle School State Assembly will offer students an 17
accurate depiction of state government and the manner in which 18
legislation is created and processed; and 19
WHEREAS, Through participation in the Ohio YMCA Youth and 20
Government Middle School State Assembly, students will be better 21
prepared to become productive members of our complex and ever-changing 22
society. The maturity and experience the participants will gain 23

through their involvement in this program will not only enrich their 24
total educational experience but also enable them to make better- 25
informed decisions as they assume the responsibilities of adult 26
citizenship; therefore be it 27
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of 28
Representatives of the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting 29
this Resolution, permit the Ohio YMCA Youth and Government Middle 30
School State Assembly to use the Ohio House Chambers for its 2024 31
model legislature event, December 9, 2024, contingent upon the 32
availability of those facilities, and salute its participants as 33
conscientious young citizens; and be it further 34
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives 35
transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Ohio YMCA 36
Youth and Government Middle School State Assembly. 37
