A RESOLUTION
Honoring the Lancaster High School girls cross country team
as the 2024 Division I State Champion.
WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th 1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate the Lancaster 2
High School girls cross country team on winning the 2024 Division I 3
State Championship; and 4
WHEREAS, A remarkable group of young athletes, the members of the 5
Lancaster High School girls cross country team have established 6
themselves as truly exceptional competitors by combining talent and 7
spirit with the highest ideals of good sportsmanship. With admirable 8
dedication, the Golden Gales have worked diligently toward attaining 9
ultimate proficiency in cross country, and as a result, they won the 10
Division I state crown with an impressive total team score of 114 11
points, earning their first ever state title, and completed the season 12
as an undefeated squad; and 13
WHEREAS, The achievements and leadership of the Lancaster High 14
School girls cross country team are a justifiable source of pride and 15
an excellent reflection on these long-distance runners, their 16
families, their school community, and their head coach, Teresa Tripp. 17
Indeed, in leading the team to victory, Coach Tripp has helped these 18
athletes to develop great talent by instilling the valuable lessons of 19
determination, perseverance, and camaraderie; and 20
WHEREAS, With athletic competition playing such an important role 21
in the total education of our young people, we are pleased to pay 22
tribute to the exemplary athletes and the outstanding coaches of the 23
Lancaster High School girls cross country team for a job well done. 24
The maturity and experience the team members have gained through their 25
participation in sports will greatly aid them in meeting the 26

challenges of the future; therefore be it 27
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of 28
the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, 29
commend the Lancaster High School girls cross country team on its 30
tremendous 2024 season and salute the members and coaches as some of 31
Ohio’s finest citizens; and be it further 32
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit 33
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Lancaster High 34
School girls cross country team. 35
