                       A RESOLUTION
                       Honoring Claire Springer
         as a 2024 Division I State track and field champion.
     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th   1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to commend Claire Springer as a     2
2024 Division I State champion in the shot put; and                      3
     WHEREAS, A diligent and capable individual, Claire Springer is      4
deserving of recognition for her exemplary accomplishments as a senior   5
member of the Avon Lake High School girls track and field team. An       6
exceptional athlete, she secured first place in the shot put with a      7
throw of 44 feet, 11 inches at this year’s Ohio High School Athletic     8
Association Division I State Meet, and her noteworthy record of          9
personal attainment stands as a hallmark for others to emulate; and      10
     WHEREAS, Through her participation in sports, Claire Springer has   11
learned important lessons of discipline, perseverance, hard work, and    12
good sportsmanship that will undoubtedly be of great benefit to her      13
throughout her life. Due to her outstanding efforts, she has inspired    14
countless people to excel in various areas of endeavor, and she has      15
set an example worthy of the applause; and                               16
     WHEREAS, In a society that seeks to teach the future leaders of     17
our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and the rewards   18
of individual effort, athletic competition has become a valuable         19
educational tool. With sports playing such an important part in the      20
development of our young people, we are extremely pleased to pay         21
tribute to such a tremendous athlete as Claire Springer; therefore be    22

     RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of   24
the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution,         25

applaud Claire Springer on her remarkable achievement and salute her       26
as a fine Ohio athlete; and be it further                                  27
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit     28
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Claire Springer.           29
