A RESOLUTION
Honoring the London Correctional Institution
on its Centennial.
WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th 1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to the London 2
Correctional Institution on the auspicious occasion of its One 3
Hundredth Anniversary; and 4
WHEREAS, This is an important event, and it provides an ideal time 5
to acknowledge the exceptional work done by the London Correctional 6
Institution. Since its establishment in 1924, this fine level-two 7
security institution has worked to reduce recidivism by preparing 8
inmates to become contributing members of their communities through 9
education and partnerships with various employers, churches, and local 10
government, and this agency’s impressive involvement in the community 11
readily explains why it is so widely held in high esteem; and 12
WHEREAS, Over the years, the warden and staff of the London 13
Correctional Institution have consistently demonstrated exemplary 14
professionalism and expertise, as well as an unwavering commitment to 15
making a difference in peoples’ lives and the State of Ohio. Indeed, 16
this regional facility is a justifiable source of pride and a fine 17
reflection on the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction; 18
and 19
WHEREAS, All those associated with the London Correctional 20
Institution, including Warden Michael DeMartino, are to be commended 21
for their foresight, dedication, and selfless donations of time, 22
energy, and ability far beyond what was required or expected. These 23
fine people have gained the appreciation and admiration of society and 24
have set an example of concerned and responsible citizenship worthy of 25
emulation; therefore be it 26

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of 27
the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, 28
congratulate the London Correctional Institution on its One Hundredth 29
Anniversary and extend best wishes for continued success; and be it 30
further 31
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit 32
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the London 33
Correctional Institution. 34
