                       A RESOLUTION
  Honoring Jesse Scott on placing first in the men’s senior/varsity
         competition at the 2024 SCTP National Championships.
     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th   1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Jesse Scott as a    2
2024 Scholastic Clay Target Program National champion; and               3
     WHEREAS, A member of the Lorain County Youth Trap team, Jesse       4
Scott is deserving of recognition for his exemplary accomplishments in   5
the sport of trap shooting. A diligent and capable individual, he shot   6
a perfect 200 of 200 clay pigeons to tie for first place and shot        7
another perfect 25 of 25 to win the title for the men’s senior/varsity   8
competition at this year’s SCTP National Championships. Indeed, his      9
noteworthy record of personal achievement stands as a hallmark for       10
others to emulate; and                                                   11
     WHEREAS, Through his participation in sports, Jesse Scott has       12
learned the important lessons of discipline, perseverance, hard work,    13
and good sportsmanship that will undoubtedly be of great benefit to      14
him throughout his life. Through his outstanding efforts, he has         15
inspired countless individuals to excel in various areas of endeavor,    16
and he has set an example worthy of the highest praise; and              17
     WHEREAS, In a society that seeks to teach the future leaders of     18
our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and the rewards   19
of individual effort, athletic competition has become a valuable         20
educational tool. With sports playing such an important part in the      21
development of our young people, we are extremely pleased to pay         22
tribute to such an impressive marksman as Jesse Scott; therefore be it   23
     RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of   24
the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution,         25

commend Jesse Scott on his national championship and salute him as a       26
fine Ohioan; and be it further                                             27
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit     28
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Jesse Scott.               29
