                       A RESOLUTION
                        Honoring Andrew Walton
  on winning the 2024 Division II State Cross Country Championship.
     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th    1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to     2
Andrew Walton as the 2024 Division II State Cross Country Champion;       3
and                                                                       4
     WHEREAS, This accomplishment is truly noteworthy, for Andrew         5
Walton has clearly demonstrated his talent and perseverance, as well      6
as his mental and physical fortitude as a long distance runner. He won    7
this year’s Division II State Championship with a time of 15:09.84,       8
and he has exemplified all of the characteristics that are essential      9
for success both in and out of the sports world, including courage,       10
determination, and an innate sense of the principles of good              11
sportsmanship; and                                                        12
     WHEREAS, In displaying such exceptional prowess as a senior member   13
of the Fairfield Union High School cross country team, Andrew Walton      14
has earned the appreciation of his fellow athletes, the devotion of       15
countless fans, and the respect of even his most determined rivals.       16
Competition in athletics has enabled him to learn much about              17
dedication and self-discipline, and we take this opportunity to           18
acknowledge his exceptional record of achievement; and                    19
     WHEREAS, Long distance running is an event that requires             20
exceptional stamina and natural ability, and Andrew Walton is to be       21
commended for his commitment to this demanding activity. In attaining     22
his athletic goals, he has consistently exhibited the skill and           23
integrity that are the hallmarks of a true champion; therefore be it      24
    RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of     25

the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution,           26
congratulate Andrew Walton on securing the 2024 Division II State          27
Cross Country Championship and offer best wishes for ongoing success;      28
and be it further                                                          29
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit     30
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Andrew Walton.             31
