                       A RESOLUTION
                          Honoring Izaak Cox
  on winning a 2024 Division III State Track and Field Championship.
     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th    1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to commend Izaak Cox as the 2024     2
Division III State Track and Field Champion in the long jump; and         3
     WHEREAS, A diligent and capable individual, Izaak Cox is deserving   4
of recognition for his exemplary accomplishments as a junior member of    5
the Rock Hill High School boys track and field team. At this year’s       6
Division III State Meet, he won first place in the long jump with a       7
leap of 22 feet, 11.25 inches, becoming just the second track and         8
field athlete from RHHS to win a state championship, and his              9
noteworthy record of personal achievement stands as a hallmark for        10
others; and                                                               11
     WHEREAS, Through his participation in sports, Izaak Cox has          12
learned important lessons of discipline, perseverance, hard work, and     13
good sportsmanship that will undoubtedly be of great benefit to him       14
throughout his life. Through his outstanding efforts, he has inspired     15
countless people to excel in various areas of endeavor, and he has set    16
an example worthy of emulation; and                                       17
     WHEREAS, In a society that seeks to teach the future leaders of      18
our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and the rewards    19
of individual and group effort, athletic competition has become a         20
valuable educational tool. With sports contributing to the development    21
of countless youth, we are delighted to congratulate such a fine          22
athlete as Izaak Cox; therefore be it                                     23
     RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of    24
the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution,          25

applaud Izaak Cox on his 2024 Division III State title and extend best     26
wishes for continued success; and be it further                            27
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit     28
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Izaak Cox.                 29
