                       A RESOLUTION
         Honoring the Kent State University women’s golf team
             as the 2024 Mid-American Conference Champion.
     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th   1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to recognize the Kent State         2
University women’s golf team on winning the 2024 Mid-American            3
Conference Championship; and                                             4
     WHEREAS, The members of the Kent State University women’s golf      5
team are exemplary athletes, and they have shown themselves to be        6
truly exceptional competitors. During the 2024 season, the Golden        7
Flashes consistently impressed as they won their twenty-fifth            8
consecutive MAC Championship title. The unwavering commitment of the     9
golfers and coaches has earned them the esteem of many, and they are     10
certainly deserving of high praise; and                                  11
     WHEREAS, Coach Casey VanDamme has demonstrated remarkable energy,   12
enthusiasm, and dedication in guiding the Kent State University          13
women’s golf team to victory, and his skill is reflected in the          14
squad’s outstanding accomplishments. Due largely to his tireless         15
efforts, the members have distinguished themselves in competition, and   16
he has received respect and admiration from all who know him; and        17
     WHEREAS, In an educational system that seeks to teach the future    18
leaders of our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and    19
the rewards of individual and group effort, athletic competition has     20
become a valuable tool. By taking part in sports, the members of the     21
Kent State University women’s golf team have gained discipline and       22
perseverance that will help them in all aspects of their lives;          23
therefore be it                                                          24
    RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of    25

As Offered
the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, pay       26
tribute to the Kent State University women’s golf team as the 2024 MAC     27
Champion and honor all those who contributed to the success of this        28
fine squad; and be it further                                              29
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit     30
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Kent State             31
University women’s golf team.                                              32
