A RESOLUTION
Honoring Jerry Laffin for exemplary years of service to
Mercer County.
WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 135th General Assembly 1
of Ohio are pleased to applaud Jerry Laffin on his retirement as the 2
Mercer County Commissioner, January 1, 2025; and 3
WHEREAS, Jerry Laffin is a highly principled Ohioan, and he has 4
become a dynamic leader for the state through his civic concern. He 5
has dedicated his tenure to making Mercer a strong Ohio county, and 6
his initiatives, which have included making community and economic 7
development a full-time department, are a reflection of his record of 8
excellence; and 9
WHEREAS, Jerry Laffin has been sincere and energetic in his 10
professional endeavors, and he has certainly distinguished himself as 11
a conscientious and responsible individual. The people of Mercer 12
County have benefited greatly from his collaboration with countless 13
area agencies and businesses, and he is truly deserving of 14
commendation; and 15
WHEREAS, The integrity and deep devotion that are reflected in 16
hard-working people such as Jerry Laffin have been instrumental to 17
furthering the success of our state. He has advocated for and assisted 18
his fellow citizens with compassion and enthusiasm, and he has made 19
unparalleled contributions over the course of his more than forty-year 20
tenure that are worthy of applause; therefore be it 21
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 135th General 22
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, extend special 23
recognition to Jerry Laffin on his retirement and extend best wishes 24
for a happy and healthy future; and be it further 25

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly 26
authenticated copy of this Resolution to Jerry Laffin. 27
