A RESOLUTION
Honoring Landon Kimmel as the 2024 Division I State Cross
Country Champion.
WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 135th General Assembly 1
of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Landon Kimmel on winning the 2024 2
Division I State Championship in boys cross country; and 3
WHEREAS, A junior at Tippecanoe High School, Landon Kimmel has 4
combined talent and competitive spirit with the highest ideals of good 5
sportsmanship to establish himself as a truly exceptional young 6
athlete. With admirable dedication, he has worked diligently toward 7
attaining ultimate proficiency in cross country, and as a result, he 8
won this year’s Division I State Championship title with a state- 9
record time of 14:33.81; and 10
WHEREAS, Landon Kimmel’s accomplishments and leadership, both in 11
and out of competition, are a justifiable source of pride and a fine 12
reflection not only on him but also on his family, his teammates, his 13
coaches, his school, and his community. His unwavering commitment to 14
excellence has earned him the respect and esteem of many, and he is 15
certainly worthy of high praise; and 16
WHEREAS, With athletic competition playing such an important role 17
in the total education of our young people, we are extremely pleased 18
to pay tribute to Landon Kimmel on an exemplary season. Indeed, the 19
same maturity and experience he has gained through his participation 20
in distance running will greatly aid him in meeting the challenges of 21
the future; therefore be it 22
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 135th General 23
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Landon Kimmel 24
on his 2024 Division I State Cross Country Championship and extend 25

best wishes for continued success; and be it further 26
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly 27
authenticated copy of this Resolution to Landon Kimmel. 28
