A RESOLUTION
Honoring the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force
on receiving a Distinguished Group Award for a District Task Force.
WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th 1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to the Northern 2
Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force on being presented with a 3
Distinguished Group Award for a District Task Force by the United 4
States Marshals Service, August 21, 2024; and 5
WHEREAS, This prestigious accolade, one of the highest honors 6
given by the U.S. Marshals Service, has been accorded to the Northern 7
Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force for its tremendous efforts. Created 8
in 2003 and made up of officers from 150 federal, state, and local 9
agencies, this special unit locates and arrests the most violent 10
fugitives and runs operations focused on violent offenders, gangs, 11
firearm offenses, and the recovery of missing children, and it has 12
captured more than 55,000 wanted criminals since its inception; and 13
WHEREAS, It is the formidable charge of the members of the 14
Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force to risk danger and hardship 15
to protect the lives, rights, and property of area residents. Clearly, 16
communities across Northern Ohio owe a debt of gratitude to these fine 17
professionals for the courage and commitment that they have shown 18
while faithfully serving the public; and 19
WHEREAS, Demonstrating a sincere concern for the future of the 20
region, the members of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force 21
have given back far more than they have gleaned, and their selfless 22
endeavors stand as the hallmark of responsible citizenship. They can 23
rest assured that they have set an example of humanitarian service 24
worthy of emulation, and considering the bravery, dedication, and 25
self-sacrifice of this group of heroes, it is no surprise that they 26

have inspired trust, respect, and confidence; therefore be it 27
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of 28
the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, honor 29
the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force on its invaluable 30
contributions and applaud everyone who helped make this award 31
possible; and be it further 32
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit 33
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Northern Ohio 34
Violent Fugitive Task Force. 35
