                       A RESOLUTION
            Honoring Andrew Walton as the 2024 Division II State Boys
              Cross Country Champion.
     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 135th General Assembly     1
of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to Andrew Walton on placing first      2
at the 2024 Division II State Cross Country Championship meet; and        3
     WHEREAS, Andrew Walton has achieved a tremendous feat in securing    4
this year’s Division II State Cross Country Championship crown, and       5
congratulations are in order. An exemplary member of the Fairfield        6
Union High School boys cross country team, he won first place with an     7
exemplary time of 15:09.84, and his strong performance, combined with     8
an adept drive to succeed, has led him to this exceptional victory.       9
Clearly, he has earned the appreciation and admiration of all those       10
who have followed his competitive career; and                             11
     WHEREAS, Andrew Walton has worked diligently to develop his unique   12
talents as a long-distance runner, and his triumph signifies the          13
acquisition of valuable experience that is sure to benefit him later      14
in life. Thanks to the tireless efforts of his coaches as well as the     15
support of his family and peers, he has met the demands of an             16
extensive training regimen, and he has just cause for celebration; and    17
     WHEREAS, Andrew Walton has set an excellent example of what a        18
dedicated person can achieve, especially when surrounded by loyal fans    19
and faithful supporters. He has certainly proven himself to be a          20
standout figure in the sport of cross country, and we are confident       21
that as he meets future challenges, he will take with him the valuable    22
lessons he has gained through his participation in athletic               23
competition; therefore be it                                              24
    RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 135th General     25

As Introduced
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate Andrew            26
Walton on his recent state title and count him among the ranks of             27
outstanding young Ohioans; and be it further                                  28
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly                   29
authenticated copy of this Resolution to Andrew Walton.                       30
