                       A RESOLUTION
           Honoring Myriah Massey on securing a 2024 FIVB U19 Beach
              Volleyball World Championship.
     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 135th General Assembly    1
of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to Myriah Massey on    2
earning a gold medal at the 2024 Fédération Internationale de            3
Volleyball U19 Beach Volleyball World Championship; and                  4
     WHEREAS, A remarkable individual, Myriah Massey has combined        5
talent and competitive spirit with the highest ideals of good            6
sportsmanship to establish herself as a truly exceptional athlete.       7
With admirable dedication, she has worked diligently toward attaining    8
ultimate proficiency in her sport, and as a result, she and her          9
partner, Lily Davis, won the gold medal with a 2-0 sweep of the          10
Spanish team at this year’s FIVB U19 World Championship in women’s       11
beach volleyball; and                                                    12
     WHEREAS, Myriah Massey’s outstanding ability and spirited drive,    13
as well as her quickness and tenacity, have distinguished her as a       14
superior competitor, and for her tremendous performance at the 2024      15
FIVB U19 World Championship, she has gained the admiration and respect   16
of all those who have witnessed her in action. Truly, she has proven     17
herself to be one of the finest athletes in the world, and we applaud    18
her fantastic drive and dedication; and                                  19
     WHEREAS, A Pickerington High School Central graduate, Myriah        20
Massey has conscientiously applied herself to the quest for excellence   21
as an athlete, training and practicing diligently in order to ensure     22
peak conditioning. Time and again, she has risen to the occasion,        23
maintaining her morale and composure, and she has gained the respect     24
of even her most determined rivals. Clearly, her enthusiastic            25
involvement in beach volleyball has enabled her to learn much about      26

dedication, self-discipline, and leadership, and in the process, her       27
exceptional prowess has made her family, friends, and hometown very        28
proud; therefore be it                                                     29
     RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 135th General     30
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate Myriah         31
Massey as a 2024 gold medalist and salute her as one of Ohio’s finest      32
citizens; and be it further                                                33
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly                34
authenticated copy of this Resolution to Myriah Massey.                    35
