A RESOLUTION
Honoring Darnall Family Farms on its Sesquicentennial.
WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 135th General Assembly 1
of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Darnall Family Farms on the 2
auspicious occasion of its One Hundred Fiftieth Anniversary; and 3
WHEREAS, This prestigious milestone is a fitting time to pay 4
tribute to Darnall Family Farms. Established by William and Margaret 5
Davis after they purchased eighty acres of farmland in 1874, the 6
property has passed down through the family to their great-great- 7
granddaughter, Linda Darnall, its current owner, while always being an 8
important part of the Findlay community; and 9
WHEREAS, Recently designated as a Sesquicentennial Farm by the 10
Ohio Historic Family Farms program, Darnall Family Farms has become 11
known for its dedication to maintaining the highest ideals of 12
agricultural stewardship. Undoubtedly, it has earned the respect and 13
appreciation of the entire area and contributed greatly to the unique 14
culture of Findlay; and 15
WHEREAS, At a time of increasing urbanization, when many are 16
forced to rely on the services of a few to survive, farmers have 17
shouldered the responsibility of feeding the world’s population with 18
competence and efficiency. As farmers’ efforts are all too often 19
overlooked, it is appropriate that we applaud those who have had a 20
positive impact on Ohio’s agricultural community, including the 21
members of the Darnall family as well as everyone affiliated with 22
Darnall Family Farms; therefore be it 23
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 135th General 24
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Darnall Family 25
Farms on its Sesquicentennial and extend best wishes for the future; 26

authenticated copy of this Resolution to Darnall Family Farms. 29
