                       A RESOLUTION
            Honoring First Congregational United Church of Christ on
              its Bicentennial.
     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 135th General Assembly    1
of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to First               2
Congregational United Church of Christ on its Two Hundredth              3
Anniversary; and                                                         4
     WHEREAS, Since its inception in 1824, First Congregational United   5
Church of Christ has offered its members the pathway to a more           6
meaningful life by illuminating and demonstrating the precepts on        7
which the United Church of Christ was founded. The spirit of love and    8
Christian fellowship that exists within the church also extends beyond   9
those sacred walls to touch the lives of everyone encountered by these   10
devout disciples; and                                                    11
     WHEREAS, Under the capable leadership of its pastors, including     12
the Reverend Cheryl Lindsay and her predecessors, First Congregational   13
United Church of Christ has experienced continual growth and has         14
provided a source of moral guidance and spiritual motivation for its     15
congregation. Since its inaugural service on April 20, 1824, the         16
church has enhanced the quality of life within the area, and through     17
its generous efforts, it has earned the gratitude and respect of the     18
many citizens it has so capably served; and                              19
     WHEREAS, An occasion such as this is an important milestone that    20
represents dedication and commitment. For two centuries, the members     21
of First Congregational United Church of Christ have kept their faith    22
alive in the Wellington community, and on this special anniversary,      23
they have accepted the challenge of carrying their beliefs into the      24
future; therefore be it                                                  25

As Introduced
     RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 135th General     26
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend First               27
Congregational United Church of Christ on its Two Hundredth                28
Anniversary and pay tribute to all those joining in the celebration of     29
this joyous event; and be it further                                       30
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly                31
authenticated copy of this Resolution to First Congregational United       32
Church of Christ.                                                          33
