A RESOLUTION
Honoring First Baptist Church of St. Paris on its
Sesquicentennial.
WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 135th General Assembly 1
of Ohio are pleased to congratulate First Baptist Church of St. Paris 2
on its One Hundred Fiftieth Anniversary, celebrated August 17-18, 3
2024; and 4
WHEREAS, Since its inception, First Baptist Church of St. Paris 5
has offered its members the pathway to a more meaningful life by 6
illuminating and demonstrating the precepts on which the Baptist 7
Church was founded. Organized in 1874, the church completed its first 8
building the following year and then replaced it with a new structure 9
in 1915, and it has developed numerous missions and outreach programs 10
during its history. The spirit of love and Christian fellowship that 11
exists within the church also extends beyond those sacred walls to 12
touch the lives of everyone encountered by these devout disciples; and 13
WHEREAS, Under the capable leadership of its pastors, both past 14
and present, First Baptist Church of St. Paris has experienced 15
continual growth and has provided a source of moral guidance and 16
spiritual motivation for its congregation. Over the years, the church 17
has enhanced the quality of life within the surrounding area, and 18
through its generous efforts, it has earned the gratitude and respect 19
of the many citizens it has so capably served; and 20
WHEREAS, An occasion such as this is an important milestone that 21
represents dedication and commitment. For a century and a half, the 22
members of First Baptist Church of St. Paris have kept their faith 23
alive in the community, and on this special anniversary, they have 24
accepted the challenge of carrying their beliefs into the future; 25

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 135th General 27
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend First Baptist 28
Church of St. Paris on its One Hundred Fiftieth Anniversary and pay 29
tribute to all those joining in the celebration of this joyous event; 30
and be it further 31
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly 32
authenticated copy of this Resolution to First Baptist Church of St. 33
Paris. 34
