                       A RESOLUTION
                  Honoring Plymouth Methodist Church
                       on its Sesquicentennial.
     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th   1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to    2
Plymouth Methodist Church on the memorable occasion of its One Hundred   3
Fiftieth Anniversary, celebrated August 24, 2024; and                    4
     WHEREAS, Plymouth Methodist Church was built by John Wetmore and    5
Fred Smith on land donated by Filo Blakelsee and held its first          6
service in 1874. For the past century and a half, this dynamic house     7
of worship has served as a tremendous source of spiritual inspiration    8
for its congregation, and it has encouraged countless people to pursue   9
lives of service, learning, and fellowship; and                          10
     WHEREAS, This auspicious celebration offers the members of          11
Plymouth Methodist Church the opportunity to share their memories and    12
to reflect on the benefits of life in their close-knit community.        13
Under the guidance of many fine religious leaders, including Pastor      14
Vernon Palo, the parishioners have expanded on the best traditions of    15
the past to ensure a benevolent and prosperous future, and they can be   16
proud of the remarkable examples they have set through their values      17
and principles; and                                                      18
     WHEREAS, The members of Plymouth Methodist Church have stood        19
strong in the face of numerous challenges, and they have had a           20
positive impact on the lives of many local residents. Indeed, this       21
important milestone represents their dedication and commitment to keep   22
the faith alive in the Ashtabula community, and all those associated     23
with this beacon of society are deserving of high praise; therefore be   24

As Offered
     RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of     26
the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution,           27
applaud Plymouth Methodist Church on its One Hundred Fiftieth              28
Anniversary and offer best wishes as it upholds its rich legacy of         29
faith and fellowship in the years to come; and be it further               30
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit     31
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Plymouth Methodist         32
