A RESOLUTION
Honoring the Austintown Fitch High School cheerleading team
on winning a 2024 OASSA State Championship.
WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th 1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate the Austintown 2
Fitch High School cheerleading team on securing first place in the 3
Division 2 traditional building event at the 2024 Ohio Association of 4
Secondary School Administrators State Cheer and Dance Championships; 5
and 6
WHEREAS, An extremely talented group of young athletes, the 7
members of the Austintown Fitch High School cheerleading team have 8
distinguished themselves as one of the finest teams in Ohio. Under the 9
capable direction of their coaches, they performed admirably at this 10
year’s OASSA State Cheer and Dance Championships, earning first place 11
in the Division 2 traditional building event. They are certainly 12
deserving of applause; and 13
WHEREAS, The members of the Austintown Fitch High School 14
cheerleading team have conscientiously applied themselves to the quest 15
for excellence, and time and again, they have risen to the occasion, 16
maintaining their morale, composure, and good sportsmanship. Clearly, 17
their enthusiastic involvement in competitive cheerleading has enabled 18
them to learn much about dedication, self-discipline, and leadership, 19
and in the process, their exceptional prowess has made their families 20
and school community very proud; and 21
WHEREAS, The members of the Austintown Fitch High School 22
cheerleading team have consistently demonstrated the talent, 23
confidence, and motivation that are the hallmarks of true champions, 24
and they have gained the respect of even their most determined rivals. 25
The maturity and experience which the students have gained through 26

their participation in sports will undoubtedly assist them in meeting 27
the challenges of the future; therefore be it 28
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of 29
the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, 30
commend the Austintown Fitch High School cheerleading team for 31
exemplary achievement and salute the members as some of Ohio’s finest 32
young citizens; and be it further 33
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit 34
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Austintown Fitch 35
High School cheerleading team. 36
