                       A RESOLUTION
                 Honoring David Khari Webber Chappelle
                    on winning a 2024 Grammy Award.
     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th   1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to    2
David Khari Webber Chappelle on being presented with a 2024 Grammy       3
Award in the best comedy album category; and                             4
     WHEREAS, A creative and talented individual, Dave Chappelle has     5
demonstrated exemplary initiative, enthusiasm, and perseverance in       6
developing and sharing his skills as comedian, and as a result, he won   7
a 2024 Grammy Award in the best comedy album category for What’s in a    8
Name. Clearly, his unwavering commitment to excellence has earned him    9
a reputation as a truly gifted performer, and he is deserving of high    10
praise; and                                                              11
     WHEREAS, Dave Chappelle has worked tirelessly to develop his        12
special talents of expression, and through his comedic performances,     13
he has touched, inspired, and gained the respect of countless people.    14
His success is a justifiable source of pride for him and his family,     15
and we are certain that as he further pursues his interests, he will     16
continue to make invaluable contributions to the world around him; and   17
     WHEREAS, Whether occupying center stage or working diligently in    18
the wings, Dave Chappelle has always made his dynamic presence felt.     19
To his credit, he has clearly demonstrated how very much can be          20
accomplished by a conscientious, industrious person, and his many        21
outstanding achievements, including securing this, his sixth Grammy      22
Award overall, have set a fine example for others to emulate;            23
therefore be it                                                          24
    RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of    25

As Offered
the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution,              26
commend David Khari Webber Chappelle for tremendous attainment and            27
salute him as one of Ohio’s finest citizens; and be it further                28
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit        29
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to David Khari Webber            30
Chappelle.                                                                    31
