                       A RESOLUTION
                    Honoring Gilead Friends Church
                         on its Bicentennial.
     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th    1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to     2
Gilead Friends Church on the hallowed occasion of its Two Hundredth       3
Anniversary; and                                                          4
     WHEREAS, Since its inception in 1824, Gilead Friends Church has      5
offered its members the pathway to a more meaningful life by              6
illuminating and demonstrating the precepts on which the church was       7
founded. The spirit of love and Christian fellowship that exists among    8
the parishioners not only prevails within the church edifice itself       9
but also extends beyond those sacred walls to touch the lives of          10
everyone encountered by its devout disciples; and                         11
     WHEREAS, Under the capable efforts of its host of leaders over the   12
past two hundred years, Gilead Friends Church has experienced             13
continual growth and provided a source of moral guidance and spiritual    14
motivation for its congregation. Over the years, the church has           15
enhanced the quality of life within Mount Gilead and the surrounding      16
area, and through its generous efforts, it has earned the gratitude       17
and respect of the many citizens it has so capably served; and            18
     WHEREAS, An occasion such as this is an important milestone which    19
represents dedication, commitment, and enduring faith. For two            20
centuries, the members of Gilead Friends Church have kept their           21
convictions alive in the Mount Gilead community, and on this special      22
anniversary, they have accepted the challenge of carrying their           23
beliefs into the future; therefore be it                                  24
    RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of     25

the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution,           26
congratulate Gilead Friends Church on its Two Hundredth Anniversary        27
and pay tribute to all those joining in the celebration of this joyous     28
event; and be it further                                                   29
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit     30
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Gilead Friends Church.     31
