                       A RESOLUTION
                         Honoring Barend Botha
                as the 2024 MAC Champion in men’s golf.
     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th    1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Barend Botha on      2
winning the 2024 Mid-American Conference Championship in men’s golf;      3
and                                                                       4
     WHEREAS, A senior at The University of Toledo, Barend Botha has      5
combined talent and competitive spirit with the highest ideals of good    6
sportsmanship to establish himself as a truly exceptional young           7
athlete. With admirable dedication, he has worked diligently toward       8
attaining ultimate proficiency in golf, and as a result, he compiled a    9
score of 205 to win the Mid-American Conference Championship, his         10
second consecutive league title, and advanced to the National             11
Collegiate Athletic Association West Lafayette Regional this season;      12
and                                                                       13
     WHEREAS, Barend Botha’s accomplishments and leadership, both in      14
and out of competition, are a justifiable source of pride and a fine      15
reflection not only on him but also on his family, his teammates, his     16
coaches, his school, and his hometown. His unwavering commitment to       17
excellence has earned him MAC Golfer of the Year honors for the second    18
straight season, and he is certainly worthy of high praise; and           19
     WHEREAS, With athletic competition playing such an important role    20
in the total education of our young people, we are extremely pleased      21
to pay tribute to Barend Botha on an exemplary season. Indeed, the        22
same maturity and experience he has gained through his participation      23
in golf will greatly aid him in meeting the challenges of the future;     24

As Offered
     RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of     26
the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution,           27
commend Barend Botha on his 2024 MAC Championship and extend best          28
wishes for continued success; and be it further                            29
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit     30
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Barend Botha.              31
