                       A RESOLUTION
                         Honoring Abby Wilson
           for her success at the 2024 USTA NTRP Tournament.
     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th   1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to applaud Abby Wilson as the       2
winner of the 3.0 18 and over singles category at the United States      3
Tennis Association’s 2024 National Tennis Rating Program Tournament;     4
and                                                                      5
     WHEREAS, A celebrated Kalida High School alumna and an esteemed     6
attorney with Marshall Melhorn, Abby Wilson is deserving of              7
acknowledgement for her exemplary performance at this year’s USTA NTRP   8
Tournament, where she secured a first-place finish in the 3.0 18 and     9
over singles category with an impressive 4-2, 2-4, 4-1 match. Her        10
athletic prowess as an outstanding tennis competitor is reflected in     11
this national crown, and her return to sports as a means for             12
establishing an active and healthy lifestyle stands as a hallmark for    13
others; and                                                              14
     WHEREAS, Through her participation in tennis, Abby Wilson has       15
expanded on her growth and accomplishment by preparing diligently for    16
such events as the USTA NTRP Tournament, and she has set an example      17
worthy of emulation. Indeed, by further implementing her remarkable      18
discipline, perseverance, and hard work on the national level, she has   19
inspired many to challenge themselves to strive for excellence; and      20
     WHEREAS, In a society that encourages individuals to reflect on     21
the merits of advancing one’s personal, professional, and recreational   22
endeavors, athletic competition has become a valuable outlet for         23
success. We are happy to congratulate such a fine tennis player as       24
Abby Wilson and look with optimism as she continues her development      25
with the National Tennis Rating Program; therefore be it                 26

     RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of     27
the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution,           28
extend special recognition to Abby Wilson for her athletic achievement     29
at the 2024 USTA NTRP Tournament and salute her as a fine Ohioan; and      30
be it further                                                              31
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit     32
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Abby Wilson.               33
