                       A RESOLUTION
            Honoring Columbus Public Health on being recognized by the
              National Association of County and City Health
              Officials.
     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 135th General Assembly    1
of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to Columbus Public     2
Health on being presented with the 2024 National Champion of Local       3
Government Public Health Award; and                                      4
     WHEREAS, Columbus Public Health is to be applauded for its          5
generous contributions, which have represented a lasting investment in   6
the community and its residents. Named the National Champion of Local    7
Government Public Health, this agency has earned praise by the           8
National Association of County and City Health Officials for serving     9
as an example of what can be accomplished through the spirit of          10
cooperation and civic responsibility; and                                11
     WHEREAS, Our state’s reputation for building healthy communities    12
has been perpetuated by Columbus Public Health, which is comprised of    13
nearly six hundred employees and serves the fourteenth largest city in   14
the country. This stalwart health resource has been recognized by        15
NACCHO as a result of its exemplary work, and it has protected the       16
health of people of color by implementing renowned programs such as      17
anti-violence initiatives, childhood lead-free policies, and a           18
comprehensive city-wide flavored tobacco ban, and these efforts have     19
improved countless lives in the heart of the Midwest; and                20
     WHEREAS, The dedicated professionals affiliated with Columbus       21
Public Health can be proud of their innovative approach to societal      22
welfare, which reflects on the success of the past and looks toward a    23

promising future. They have willingly given of their time, energy, and      24
abilities, and their numerous achievements are truly noteworthy, for        25
they have worked tirelessly to address vital public health concerns         26
and advance the quality of care in Central Ohio; therefore be it            27
     RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 135th General      28
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate Columbus        29
Public Health on receiving the NACCHO National Champion of Local            30
Government Public Health Award and pay tribute to it as an exemplary        31
resource for Ohioans; and be it further                                     32
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly                 33
authenticated copy of this Resolution to Columbus Public Health.            34
