A RESOLUTION
Honoring the West Liberty-Salem High School girls 4x100-meter relay
team as the 2024 Division III State Champion.
WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th 1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to 2
the West Liberty-Salem High School girls 4x100-meter relay team on 3
placing first at the 2024 Division III State Track and Field Meet; and 4
WHEREAS, Throughout the season, the members of the West Liberty- 5
Salem High School girls 4x100-meter relay team have proven to be 6
talented and superbly conditioned individuals, and their spirited and 7
highly motivated efforts have gained them the respect of fans and 8
opponents alike. At this year’s Division III State Track and Field 9
Meet, the team accomplished their goal and decisively won the 2024 10
title with an impressive time of 49.1, and they are certainly 11
deserving of commendation; and 12
WHEREAS, Under the leadership of their coaches, West Liberty-Salem 13
High School girls 4x100-meter relay team members Tori Douthwaite, 14
Delaney Jones, Gwen McCullough, and Chloe Griffith have developed into 15
remarkably efficient runners whose skill on the track is equaled only 16
by their exemplary display of teamwork and sportsmanship. They are not 17
only a credit to their families and their school but also 18
representative of the Tigers’ proud athletic tradition; and 19
WHEREAS, The road to victory and a championship title is a 20
difficult one, requiring ability, endurance, and a positive attitude 21
on the part of athletes and coaches alike. The members of the West 22
Liberty-Salem High School girls 4x100-meter relay team have 23
demonstrated all of the characteristics that are essential for success 24
both in and out of competition, including courage, discipline, and 25
integrity. Indeed, they have earned the admiration of all those who 26

have witnessed them in action; therefore be it 27
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of 28
the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, pay 29
tribute to the West Liberty-Salem High School girls 4x100-meter relay 30
team on winning the 2024 Division III State Track and Field 31
Championship and wish the runners and coaches great success in all 32
their future endeavors; and be it further 33
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit 34
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the West Liberty-Salem 35
High School girls 4x100-meter relay team. 36
