                       A RESOLUTION
       Honoring the Austintown Fitch High School softball team
          on winning the 2024 Division I State Championship.
     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th   1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to recognize the Austintown Fitch   2
High School softball team as the 2024 Division I State Champion; and     3
     WHEREAS, The members of the Austintown Fitch High School softball   4
team are exemplary athletes, and they have shown themselves to be        5
truly exceptional competitors. During the 2024 season, the Falcons       6
overcame the Watkins Memorial squad by a score of 4-0 to win the         7
Division I State Championship, their second consecutive state crown,     8
and finish the season with an impressive 23-1 record. The unwavering     9
commitment of the players and coaches has earned them the esteem of      10
many, and they are deserving of acknowledgement; and                     11
     WHEREAS, Coach Steven Ward has demonstrated remarkable energy,      12
enthusiasm, and dedication in guiding the Austintown Fitch High School   13
softball team to victory, and his skill is reflected in the squad’s      14
outstanding accomplishments. Due largely to his tireless efforts, the    15
members have distinguished themselves on the diamond, and he has         16
received respect and admiration from all who know him; and               17
     WHEREAS, In an educational system that seeks to teach the future    18
leaders of our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and    19
the rewards of individual and group effort, athletic competition has     20
become a valuable tool. By taking part in sports, the members of the     21
Austintown Fitch High School softball team have gained the discipline    22
and perseverance that will help them in all aspects of their lives;      23
therefore be it                                                          24
    RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of    25

the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, pay       26
tribute to the Austintown Fitch High School softball team as the 2024      27
Division I State Champion and honor all those who contributed to the       28
success of this fine squad; and be it further                              29
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit     30
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Austintown Fitch       31
High School softball team.                                                 32
