A RESOLUTION
Honoring the Jackson High School Junior Achievement team
as the 2024 National Student Leadership Summit Champion.
WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th 1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate the Jackson High 2
School Junior Achievement team on winning first place in the Company 3
of the Year competition at the JA National Student Leadership Summit 4
in Washington, D.C.; and 5
WHEREAS, The members of the Jackson High School Junior Achievement 6
team are, indeed, a remarkable group of young Ohioans, successfully 7
combining talent and competitive spirit with exceptional knowledge to 8
establish themselves as truly exemplary individuals. With commendable 9
dedication, they performed admirably against teams from across the 10
United States, and they won first place with their company, 11
FlameGuard, after it sold 355 fire safety kits for a net sales of 12
$16,217. Clearly, team members Justin Lackey, Joe Lattarulo, Zachary 13
Ferguson, Matt Smith, Jack Lancy, Josh Walter, Jayden Wooten, and Ben 14
Sanders have displayed a degree of determination and motivation of 15
which they can be proud; and 16
WHEREAS, In preparing themselves for this important contest, the 17
Junior Achievement team members have had the opportunity to acquire 18
skills and experiences which will be of great benefit to them 19
throughout their lives. Certainly, they confronted competition with 20
confidence and enthusiasm and distinguished themselves as outstanding 21
representatives of their school, community, and state; and 22
WHEREAS, This triumph reflects the staunch resolve of these young 23
individuals, and thanks to the tireless efforts of a variety of 24
supporters, including their business education teacher, Shawn 25
Donaldson, as well as the support of their community, the members of 26

the Jackson High School Junior Achievement team have met the demands 27
of competition. Undoubtedly, they have just cause for celebration; 28
therefore be it 29
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of 30
the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, 31
commend the Jackson High School Junior Achievement team for 32
outstanding accomplishment and salute the team members as fine 33
Ohioans; and be it further 34
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit 35
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Jackson High School 36
Junior Achievement. 37
