                       A RESOLUTION
                         Honoring Mark Lowrie
           on being named the 2024 Ohio Teacher of the Year.
     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th    1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to     2
Mark Lowrie on being acknowledged by the State Board of Education as      3
the 2024 Ohio Teacher of the Year; and                                    4
     WHEREAS, This coveted accolade is a fitting tribute to Mark Lowrie   5
for the outstanding efforts he has displayed in all his endeavors.        6
Since joining Gahanna Lincoln High School as a broadcast journalism       7
teacher five years ago, he has worked diligently to empower the youth     8
under his charge, and he has brought to his classroom a wealth of         9
experience gained during his twelve years in broadcast television as      10
well as his eighteen years as a teacher at Marion L. Steele High          11
School, where he also served as an assistant football coach and           12
athletic director and the advisor to the National Honor Society. His      13
numerous contributions are deserving of commendation; and                 14
     WHEREAS, Mark Lowrie has been an unparalleled role model to          15
countless students. Among his achievements, he has designed four new      16
courses and increased enrollment in the broadcast journalism program,     17
and he has been instrumental to the success of the Lincoln Live           18
newscast. Clearly, his noteworthy initiatives have gained him the         19
appreciation of all those who have had the pleasure of his                20
association; and                                                          21
     WHEREAS, Guiding young minds during their formative years is one     22
of the most impactful and monumental contributions one can make, and      23
Mark Lowrie has certainly encouraged and supported numerous future        24
leaders while attaining the myriad goals of Gahanna Lincoln High          25
School in a skillful manner. Indeed, we applaud him on his exemplary      26

commitment, work ethic, and enthusiasm; therefore be it                    27
     RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of     28
the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, pay       29
tribute to Mark Lowrie on his professional excellence and look with        30
optimism to a future that thrives as a result of his teaching methods;     31
and be it further                                                          32
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit     33
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Mark Lowrie.               34
