                       A RESOLUTION
                   Honoring Hocking Hills State Park
                          on its Centennial.
     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th    1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to     2
Hocking Hills State Park on the memorable occasion of its One             3
Hundredth Anniversary; and                                                4
     WHEREAS, Hocking Hills State Park is deserving of high praise, for   5
it has provided area citizens and visitors with places to relax and       6
enjoy a variety of activities in a natural and peaceful setting.          7
Established in 1924, the park encompasses 2,356 acres, including 17       8
acres of water, in the Hocking Hills Region of Ohio and is                9
administered by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. With woods,     10
rock formations, lakes, waterfalls, and recess caves, the park offers     11
ample opportunities for people to hike, camp, horseback ride, swim,       12
fish, boat, rappel, bird watch, and more, and it also has cabins and a    13
full-service lodge, restaurant, and conference center. Its One            14
Hundredth Anniversary is a justifiable source of pride and an             15
outstanding reflection on its hard-working staff and volunteers and on    16
Hocking County; and                                                       17
     WHEREAS, At a time when too few people are concerned with the        18
benefits our land has to offer, all those associated with Hocking         19
Hills State Park have applied vision and expertise to the task of         20
protecting and preserving the environment while providing the public      21
with recreational opportunities. We are proud to note that it is          22
through the diligent efforts of conscientious individuals such as         23
these that the State of Ohio continues to grow and prosper and remains    24
a pleasant place in which to live and work; and                           25
    WHEREAS, Throughout the past one hundred years, Hocking Hills         26

State Park has enhanced the quality of life within the surrounding         27
area, and its many unique features have gained it the appreciation of      28
countless grateful visitors. We are confident that the park will           29
remain an integral part of the region and an iconic landmark for           30
decades to come; therefore be it                                           31
     RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of     32
the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution,           33
commend Hocking Hills State Park on its One Hundredth Anniversary and      34
offer best wishes for the future; and be it further                        35
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit     36
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Hocking Hills State        37
