                       A RESOLUTION
            Honoring the Summit County Historical Society on its
              Centennial.
     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 135th General Assembly     1
of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to the Summit County Historical        2
Society on its One Hundredth Anniversary; and                             3
     WHEREAS, The spirit of our nation is founded upon and reflected in   4
its exciting past, and this significant milestone provides a unique       5
opportunity to recognize the Summit County Historical Society for its     6
outstanding work in preserving the heritage of the area. The              7
organization was established in 1924 with the vision of ensuring that     8
future generations can appreciate the important details of the            9
community’s past, and its success over the years has earned it the        10
respect of many; and                                                      11
     WHEREAS, All those associated with the Summit County Historical      12
Society are to be commended for their tremendous efforts to guarantee     13
that important pieces of the area’s heritage will be remembered and       14
safeguarded. These diligent individuals have distinguished themselves     15
through their involvement in numerous endeavors, including the            16
management of historic properties such as the Perkins Stone Mansion,      17
the John Brown House, and the Old Stone School, and they are worthy of    18
emulation; and                                                            19
     WHEREAS, The staff, volunteers, and members of the Summit County     20
Historical Society have demonstrated the potential of every individual    21
to have a positive effect on the quality of life in our society.          22
Indeed, the fine people affiliated with this exemplary group have         23
proven themselves to be concerned and responsible citizens and have,      24
with admirable dedication, helped sustain the history of the area;        25
therefore be it                                                           26

As Introduced
     RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 135th General     27
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud the Summit          28
County Historical Society on its Centennial and look to its future         29
with great joy; and be it further                                          30
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly                31
authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Summit County Historical      32
Society.                                                                   33
