A RESOLUTION
Honoring the Philomatheon Society of the Blind
on its One Hundredth Anniversary.
WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th 1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to the 2
Philomatheon Society of the Blind on the celebration of its One 3
Hundredth Anniversary; and 4
WHEREAS, This is, indeed, an important occasion, and it provides 5
an ideal time to acknowledge the exceptional work done by the 6
Philomatheon Society of the Blind. Since its establishment, the 7
organization has engaged in an array of worthwhile activities and 8
projects that have met the important needs of blind and visually 9
impaired people in Stark County, and this agency’s impressive record 10
as a driving force for welfare, equality, and service readily explains 11
why it is so widely held in high esteem; and 12
WHEREAS, All those associated with the Philomatheon Society of the 13
Blind are to be commended for their dedication and selfless donations 14
of time, energy, and ability far beyond what was expected. These fine 15
people have earned the respect and admiration of many for their noble 16
efforts and have set an example of concerned and responsible 17
citizenship worthy of emulation; and 18
WHEREAS, Over the past century, the Philomatheon Society of the 19
Blind has been committed to bettering our society. We look forward to 20
this institution’s continued contributions, for it is through the work 21
of organizations such as this that Ohio can build a better future for 22
all; therefore be it 23
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of 24
the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, 25

congratulate the Philomatheon Society of the Blind on its One 26
Hundredth Anniversary and salute it as one of Ohio’s finest endeavors; 27
and be it further 28
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit 29
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Philomatheon 30
Society of the Blind. 31
