A RESOLUTION
Honoring the Upper Arlington High School girls 4x400-meter
relay team as the 2024 Division I State Champion.
WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 135th General Assembly 1
of Ohio are pleased to congratulate the Upper Arlington High School 2
girls 4x400-meter relay team on securing the 2024 Division I State 3
Championship; and 4
WHEREAS, The Upper Arlington High School girls 4x400-meter relay 5
team has achieved a tremendous feat in winning the 2024 Division I 6
State crown with an impressive time of 3:50.02, and this title marks 7
the culmination of an exemplary season. The Golden Bears’ strong 8
performance, combined with an adept drive to succeed, has led the 9
squad to this outstanding victory, and the group has earned the 10
appreciation and admiration of many; and 11
WHEREAS, The accomplishments and development of the Upper 12
Arlington High School girls 4x400-meter relay team are fine examples 13
of what can be attained by a group of hard-working young people 14
supported by a dedicated coaching staff such as the one led by Coach 15
Lauren Karap. Throughout extensive conditioning and training, members 16
Maren Degenhart, Maggie Robertson, Elizabeth Poling, and Elaina 17
Schneider have developed into dynamic competitors, and they are 18
deserving of acknowledgement; and 19
WHEREAS, With great admiration, we applaud the athletes who 20
comprise the Upper Arlington High School girls 4x400-meter relay team, 21
for they have overcome many formidable opponents and displayed 22
tremendous prowess. Indeed, we are confident that as they meet their 23
future challenges, they will take with them the lessons of comradery, 24
diligence, and discipline; therefore be it 25

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 135th General 26
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, pay tribute to the 27
Upper Arlington High School girls 4x400-meter relay team on placing 28
first at the 2024 Division I State Meet and praise the strength of 29
this program and its participating athletes; and be it further 30
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly 31
authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Upper Arlington High 32
School girls 4x400-meter relay team. 33
