                       A RESOLUTION
                    Honoring Wyandot Mission Church
                    on its building’s Bicentennial.
     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th   1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to    2
Wyandot Mission Church on the Two Hundredth Anniversary of its           3
building; and                                                            4
     WHEREAS, Since it was established by John Stewart in 1816 as the    5
Wyandot Indian Mission, Wyandot Mission Church has offered its members   6
the pathway to a more meaningful life by illuminating and                7
demonstrating the precepts on which the church was founded. Officially   8
recognized by the Methodist Episcopal Church in America in 1819, the     9
mission constructed its current stone building in 1824, and the          10
Wyandot Indians worshiped there until 1843. The spirit of love and       11
Christian fellowship that exists within the church also extends beyond   12
those sacred walls to touch the lives of everyone encountered by these   13
devout disciples; and                                                    14
     WHEREAS, Under the capable leadership of its pastors, both past     15
and present, Wyandot Mission Church has provided a source of moral       16
guidance and spiritual motivation for its congregation. Over the         17
years, the church has enhanced the quality of life within the area,      18
and through its generous efforts, it has earned the gratitude and        19
respect of the generations of citizens it has so capably served; and     20
     WHEREAS, An occasion such as this is an important milestone that    21
represents dedication and commitment. For more than two centuries, the   22
members of Wyandot Mission Church have kept their faith alive in the     23
community, and on this special anniversary, they have accepted the       24
challenge of carrying their beliefs into the future; therefore be it     25

     RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of     26
the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution,           27
commend Wyandot Mission Church on the Two Hundredth Anniversary of its     28
building and pay tribute to all those joining in the celebration of        29
this joyous event; and be it further                                       30
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit     31
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Wyandot Mission            32
Church.                                                                    33
