                       A RESOLUTION
            Honoring Evan Hudson as a 2024 Division III State Track
              and Field Champion.
     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 135th General Assembly     1
of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Evan Hudson on winning 2024           2
Division III State Championships in the 200-meter and 400-meter           3
dashes; and                                                               4
     WHEREAS, A student at Oberlin High School, Evan Hudson has           5
combined talent and competitive spirit with the highest ideals of good    6
sportsmanship to establish himself as a truly exceptional young           7
athlete. With admirable dedication, he has worked diligently toward       8
attaining ultimate proficiency in sprinting, and as a result, he          9
placed first in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.02 seconds and       10
the 400-meter dash with a time of 47.97 seconds as well as second in      11
the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.04 seconds to single-handedly        12
earn Oberlin’s third place finish at this year’s Division III State       13
Track and Field Meet; and                                                 14
     WHEREAS, Evan Hudson’s accomplishments and leadership, both in and   15
out of competition, are a justifiable source of pride and a fine          16
reflection not only on him but also on his family, his teammates, his     17
coaches, his school, and his community. His unwavering commitment to      18
excellence has earned him the respect and esteem of many, and he is       19
certainly worthy of high praise; and                                      20
     WHEREAS, With athletic competition playing such an important role    21
in the total education of our young people, we are overjoyed to pay       22
tribute to Evan Hudson on an exemplary season. Indeed, the same           23
maturity and experience he has gained through his participation in        24
track and field will greatly aid him in meeting the challenges of the     25
future; therefore be it                                                   26

As Introduced
     RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 135th General     27
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Evan Hudson on      28
his achievements at the 2024 Division III State Track and Field Meet       29
and extend best wishes for continued success; and be it further            30
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly                31
authenticated copy of this Resolution to Evan Hudson.                      32
