A RESOLUTION
Honoring Robert Cash and J.J. Tracy as the 2024 NCAA
Champions in men’s doubles tennis.
WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 135th General Assembly 1
of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Robert Cash and J.J. Tracy of The 2
Ohio State University men’s tennis team on winning the 2024 NCAA 3
Championship in doubles tennis; and 4
WHEREAS, Robert Cash and J.J. Tracy have worked in tandem to 5
become remarkable athletes, and by combining talent and spirit with 6
the highest ideals of good sportsmanship, they have established 7
themselves as truly exceptional competitors. Attaining ultimate 8
proficiency in doubles tennis, they secured this year’s NCAA 9
Championship by winning a three-set match and defeating tough Florida 10
State opponents with a score of 5-7, 6-0, and 10-6. Indeed, their 11
impressive accomplishment is certainly reflected in the program’s 12
second consecutive national doubles title and third crown overall; and 13
WHEREAS, The achievements and leadership that Robert Cash and J.J. 14
Tracy have demonstrated are a justifiable source of pride and an 15
excellent reflection on their families and their coaches as well as on 16
The Ohio State University. These athletes have developed great talent 17
and have been outstanding examples of determination, perseverance, and 18
camaraderie. Robert Cash completed his final season as a Buckeye with 19
the most doubles wins in program history with 148, and his 228 overall 20
victories have been recorded in the top ten in program history. J.J. 21
Tracy completed his final season as a Buckeye by earning his second 22
All-America honor in singles, and his 235 overall victories reflect 23
the fifth most wins in program history; and 24
WHEREAS, With athletic competition playing such an important role 25
in shaping the character and integrity of young Ohioans, we are 26

pleased to pay tribute to Robert Cash and J.J. Tracy for their success 27
as members of The Ohio State University men’s tennis team. The 28
experience they have gained through their participation in sports will 29
greatly aid them in meeting the challenges of the future; therefore be 30
it 31
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 135th General 32
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Robert Cash and 33
J.J. Tracy on their tremendous 2024 season and salute them as two of 34
Ohio’s finest citizens; and be it further 35
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit duly authenticated 36
copies of this Resolution to Robert Cash and J.J. Tracy. 37
