                       A RESOLUTION
                  Honoring Morgan Hallett on securing
  two 2024 Division II State Championship titles in track and field.
     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th    1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to Morgan Hallett     2
on placing first at the 2024 Division II State Championship meet in       3
the shot put and discus throw; and                                        4
     WHEREAS, These achievements are truly noteworthy, for Morgan         5
Hallett has clearly demonstrated her talent and perseverance, as well     6
as her mental and physical fortitude as a track and field athlete.        7
Indeed, she placed first at this year’s Division II State meet in the     8
shot put with a toss of 44.00 and the discus with a throw of 152.02,      9
and she has exemplified the courage, determination, and innate sense      10
of the principles of good sportsmanship that are essential for success    11
both in and out of the sports world; and                                  12
     WHEREAS, In displaying such exceptional prowess as a senior member   13
of the Norton High School girls track and field team, Morgan Hallett      14
has set an example worthy of emulation. In addition, she also won the     15
state championships in the discus in 2023, the discus and shot put in     16
2022, and the shot put in 2021, and time and again, she has risen to      17
the occasion, maintaining morale, composure, and tenacity that has        18
earned her many admirers; and                                             19
     WHEREAS, Field events require exceptional strength, stamina, and     20
natural ability, and Morgan Hallett is to be commended for her            21
commitment to this demanding activity. Clearly, her enthusiastic          22
involvement in the discus and shot put have enabled her to learn much     23
about dedication, self-discipline, and leadership, and her exceptional    24
prowess has made her family and friends very proud; therefore be it       25

As Adopted by the House
     RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of     26
the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution,           27
congratulate Morgan Hallett as the 2024 Division II State Champion in      28
the shot put and discus throw and look to her future with optimism;        29
and be it further                                                          30
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit     31
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Morgan Hallett.            32
