A RESOLUTION
Honoring the Upper Arlington High School girls 4x400-meter relay team
on winning the 2024 Division I State Championship.
WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th 1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to the Upper 2
Arlington High School girls 4x400-meter relay team as the 2024 3
Division I State Champion; and 4
WHEREAS, Throughout the season, the members of the Upper Arlington 5
High School girls 4x400-meter relay team have proven to be talented 6
and superbly conditioned individuals, and their spirited and highly 7
motivated efforts have gained them the respect of fans and opponents 8
alike. At this year’s Division I State Track and Field Meet, the 9
Golden Bears accomplished their goal and decisively won this year’s 10
title with an impressive time of 3.50.02, and they are certainly 11
deserving of commendation; and 12
WHEREAS, Under the leadership of their coaches, the Upper 13
Arlington High School girls 4x400-meter relay team members Maren 14
Degenhart, Maggie Robertson, Elizabeth Poling, and Elaina Schneider 15
have developed into remarkably efficient runners whose skill on the 16
track is equaled only by their exemplary display of teamwork and 17
sportsmanship. They are not only a credit to their families and their 18
school but also representative of the Golden Bears’ proud athletic 19
tradition; and 20
WHEREAS, The road to victory and a championship title is a 21
difficult one, requiring ability, endurance, and a positive attitude 22
on the part of athletes and coaches alike. The members of the Upper 23
Arlington High School girls 4x400-meter relay team have demonstrated 24
all of the characteristics that are essential for success both in and 25
out of competition, including courage, discipline, and integrity. 26

Indeed, they have earned the admiration of all those who have 27
witnessed them in action; therefore be it 28
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of 29
the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, 30
applaud the Upper Arlington High School girls 4x400-meter relay team 31
on its brilliant 2024 season and extend best wishes for continued 32
success; and be it further 33
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit 34
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Upper Arlington 35
High School girls 4x400-meter relay team. 36
