A RESOLUTION
Honoring Dunham Tavern Museum Gardens on its Bicentennial.
WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 135th General Assembly 1
of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Dunham Tavern Museum & Gardens on 2
its Two Hundredth Anniversary; and 3
WHEREAS, Recognition of this prestigious milestone is a fitting 4
tribute to Dunham Tavern Museum & Gardens, for it has attained a 5
remarkable record of service to the area. Originally a stagecoach stop 6
on the Buffalo-Cleveland-Detroit post road, the one-time home of Rufus 7
and Jane Pratt Dunham has endured as the oldest building in Cleveland 8
still located in its original site. Now serving as an event space and 9
a celebration of the way life once was, the establishment has become a 10
beloved part of the community, and its many outstanding 11
accomplishments are a justifiable source of pride and an outstanding 12
reflection not only on the museum and gardens but also on its hard- 13
working staff and volunteers; and 14
WHEREAS, Since its inception, Dunham Tavern Museum & Gardens has 15
witnessed many changes, and it now stands as a testament to the growth 16
of the community over the past two centuries. We are certain that as 17
this worthy institution maintains its unfaltering dedication to 18
service, it will continue in the tradition of excellence that has 19
become its hallmark and has enriched the lives of its visitors; and 20
WHEREAS, An occasion such as this is an important milestone that 21
represents dedication and commitment. For more than two centuries, the 22
stewards of Dunham Tavern Museum & Gardens have preserved this unique 23
piece of the community, and on this special anniversary, they have 24
accepted the challenge of carrying this history into the future; 25

As Introduced
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 135th General 27
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, celebrate Dunham Tavern 28
Museum & Gardens on its Bicentennial and look to its future with 29
optimism; and be it further 30
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly 31
authenticated copy of this Resolution to Dunham Tavern Museum & 32
Gardens. 33
